hi jack, do you like cake? are you only listening to cake because you have to listen to music? will you continue to listen to cake after the stretch project is over?
And try to describe the band more or maybe that was not the right question. What are the names of the people in the band Cake? And what are some of the songs you do like called? :P :) :P :) :P :) :P :) (Maybe next time choose a different album of cake it might have a better taste.)
Hi Jack, it's great to see you blogging! I'm glad that you think Cake is at least "okay." Have you paid attention to the lyrics yet? I think the songwriter has a great sense of humor.
Luckily my father has something by just about everyone in his musical library, so I am listening to a song called Never There. I do not really like it all that much... I mean I like the drums, but the guitar, keyboard, vocals and lyrics are rather... Yeah... The trumpet is not so great either. Weird. I don't think that I would be at all motivated to blog if I had to listen to this. I had to turn it off, it is rather obnoxious. No offense or anything, but it is.
I tried listening to it and I honestly see why you haven't been blogging at all, I wouldn't either. What I WOULD do is pick a new stretch project, one that is tolerable to listen to.
Aaw, I'm sorry you're not liking Cake, Jack. I think they're pretty hilariously funny. But to be honest, I don't listen to them often . . . just every now in then, when I'm in the mood for some irony.
What do you usually do while listening to them? Could you try something different?
Maybe he is listening to a different Cake then the one you like. Maybe your cake is the kind with sugar and flour and eggs and chocolate frosting on top, and he is listening to stuff that cakes on to something. Like mud that cakes onto the bottom of your shoes, or like the burnt edges of things that cake onto the side of the pan... Different types of cake, easily confused. Jack, what type of music do you normally listen to? You should try ding a stretch project with Tokio Hotel! Or Seal, or Jason Mraz, or John Mayer or Streetlight Manifesto (!!!). Whichever of these you don't normally listen to... All of them are good.
Okay, cake has good guitar, and good trumpet. It sounds a little like Streetlight in the beginning even. But then the trumpets stop, and the guitar doesn't speed up at all, and no electric guitar comes in, and the vocals come in. The voice of the singer isn't cool. The lyrics are non-sequitor and unintelligent. It is not very good. It would be good if it was more like Streetlight Manifesto, and less like CAKE. Essentially, CAKE would be better if it ceased to exist, because there already IS a Streetlight Manifesto, and we don't need two. So Jack, my suggestion: Forget cake and listen to Streetlight Manifesto. It is much cooler. The lyrics are meaningful, it is fast and fun to listen/dance/sing-along to, it is probably not something you normally listen to... You might actually like it.
JJjjjjaaaaaaaccck! where are you? Obviously, you don't like cake so yeah, take Jake's suggestion. I recomend chocolate cake with chocolate frosting and ooh! rainbow sprinkles!!!!!! :)

ReplyDeleteThe mystery continues . . . does Jack like Cake? Does Jack eat cake while listening to Cake? Has Jack looked at this section of the blog yet?
ReplyDeleteI think Jack was attacked by a slice of cake when the horror of listening to music stunned him. That's why he doesn't blog.
ReplyDeleteOr maybe he was so immersed in eating cake that he forgot to actually listen to Cake?
ReplyDeletehi people I think that Cake is kind of a rock band.
ReplyDeleteI don't like Cake too much and probably won't listen to it after the project.
Jack, could you give some more detail? What instruments do they play in cake? What's the name of your album? Is this chocolate or vanilla cake?
ReplyDeleteI think Cake uses Guitar, trumpet, drum and maybe a keyboard.
ReplyDeleteAnd the music is ok but still not my favorite. I don't think I'll keep listening to cake after the Project. but I might.
And try to describe the band more or maybe that was not the right question. What are the names of the people in the band Cake? And what are some of the songs you do like called?

It isn't that I don't like the name, it's just that the music was kind of unbearably tedious and obnoxious... The name is cool.

ReplyDeleteI tried listening to it and I honestly see why you haven't been blogging at all, I wouldn't either. What I WOULD do is pick a new stretch project, one that is tolerable to listen to.
