Hi Guys! I listened to my whole album last night! It was awesome. I think I might have been playing it a bit too quietly, and I couldn't focus on it. My favorite song on it was the first one, Violin Sonata in G, K. 301 is what it says on the back. I did a little reasearch (in the front of the CD case) and it says that the CD is one in a whole line of them. (Beethoven for Book Lovers, Tchaikovsky at Tea Time, etc.) I think if I just put away all my thoughts and just listened to the music I would have enjoyed it more. Next time I listen to it I will try meditating (kidding.)
Hi. I have been listening to my music and I find it really pretty. There are all these patterns and these melodies that go well together. Sometimes it's kinda quiet and then there's this loud piano chord and it makes you pay attention. And then right when you're starting to pay attention to it, it gets really quiet. I think if I could see the written music, there would be a piano sign, then a forte sign, then another piano, then another forte. There are a lot of changes in the loudness. Then sometimes I'm listening and I hear a certain order of the notes that sounds really good. And then, there's a lot of music, and then I hear it again! I really like my music, and I am kinda getting to know some of the pieces better. Jamaica
Hi. I have been listening to my music when I do my homework and it is great! Seriously, the music is more interesting than the homework. About the assignment-thingy, there isn't much that's the same about it and a lot that's different. I think the only thing that's the same is that I like both of them. Some of the things that are different are the tempo (I like music you can dance to), whether or not there are lyrics, and whether or not it is pretty. I mean, I like my other music, too, but this is pretty, which is more than can be said for my other stuff. Jamaica
Weird, I could have sworn I left a comment here when I read this last week. Annnnyway, it's great reading your thoughts, Jamaica! You do a great job of describing your experience. I'm glad you're enjoying the music as you do your homework. Besides the violin sonata, which pieces are you beginning to enjoy?
I don't really know what my second favorite is, but one possible candidate for second favoritism is "Violin Sonata in C." There are 10 songs. About 7 of them are Violin Sonatas, there is one piano quartet and one piano trio. There is also some other thing that I can't really spell. Yeah, I think Mozart's music is somewhat like Beetoven's. One of them got inspired from the other, I think. I would describe Mozart as kind of calming yet inspiring. It kinda makes me want to go plant a garden. Yeah, Mozart's music is classical.
Okay, now for the assignment: Mozart's full name was Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart. He was born January 27, 1756, and died December 5, 1791. He was musical when he was very young. When he was 5 and 6 he played for some important people whose names you can see at the website that I'm going to put here. Mozart composed over 600 pieces. There is a picture of him on the website. Jamaica P.S. Sometimes it sounds like a phone ringing. http://w3.rz-berlin.mpg.de/cmp/mozart.html
Cool. I just listened to my favorite song with my eyes closed and my lights off, yet I was still thinking about other stuff. This song is a mix of violin and piano. There are no lyrics. I think i like it because of its great musical patterns and how complex it is.
I like the idea of listening with eyes closed & lights off. I should try that with Salif Keita! I wouldn't worry about thinking about other stuff . . . that's just what the human brain does. Just let the thoughts pass by and concentrate on breathing . . . that technique often helps me listen.
I did that eyes closed and lights off thingy again(with a different piece) and I tried to kinda picture myself doing something with that music playing as if I was in a movie. I came up with walking through an apple orchard-ish place with lots of trees and grass. the weather was my favorite, sunny and 70-ish. I did the same with another song and I imagined being in a courtroom and it was all quiet and indecisive and then the judge banged down that mallety thing.
Hi Jamaica! I like reading about the images you "see" when you're listening. If you want to read some verrrry interesting images, check out Maddy's writing on the MS blog!
I am sorry about leaving this so late but I usually listen to my music sitting at my desk doing my homework. (I like to multi-task) Today I listened to it while cleaning my room and it didn't do much. I finished my room in only 1 1/2 hours! (It was REALLY messy!) I couldn't even tell when the music shut off. Gotta go. Bye.
I have been listening to my stretch while cleaning my room also. I tend to wind of jumping around and shouting the lyrics though, and then my parrot starts to throw a fit and so do my parents. Streetlight Manifesto is fun to yell to... I am listening to Mozart right now. It is making me really tired. I think if I tried to clean my room while listening to this I would fall asleep on a pile of laundry on the floor... I do not know which song it is however, because the title is in Japanese. I have no idea why... How many people would play these songs at a time, or do you know? I probably should know I guess...
That happens to me sometimes, too! I mean, the thing about not noticing when the music stops playing. It happens when I'm really absorbed in whatever I'm working on. I'm glad you finished cleaning your room. Have you tried listening to any new Mozart??
You should post Jamaica! We miss you! And sorry I couldn't find your section of the blog, but maybe if you POSTED MORE I would remember it... No, I am joking, I was just spaced out. But I still would like to here your opinions on Mozart.
Hi. I'm reallyreallyreallyreallyreallyreally sorry that I haven't been blogging but like I said in music class, I've been remembering at the least convenient times.
Okay, so I was thinking "Who should I bug to listen to my music?" and I was looking around my room and then I saw... my dog! So I thought I'd see what his reaction was to the music. He's flicking his ears and looking at the iPod speakers and me kinda quizzically.... Now he looks kinda tired and a bit bored but WAIT-- he moved closer to the speakers--maybe he likes it. I'll give an overall review on Matrix's behavior after all the music is done. Until then, bye!
Sorry I didn't blog after Matrix stopped listening to the music but I kinda forgot. Anyway... he looked really relaxed and lay down and stuff. Then he left my room when my dad came home but then he came back in and lay down again so I guess he likes it... or maybe he just likes me. Personally, I thinks he likes the music AND me!
Wow Jamaica thats cool that you shared your music with your dog because i shared my music with my cat!!!!! She reacted in about the same way to my music as Matrix did to your music!!!! Sooooo cool!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
My bird likes my music. She wishes that more of it was fast, and that the vocals were higher, and that there was more screaming... But she is pretty satisfied. She likes to bounce around in her cage and scream at the top of her lungs in an earsplitting way while listening to Streetlight Manifesto. I like to bounce around and scream when I listened to Streetlight as well, but not as much as my bird does.
WHAT??? Oh. Cheese. I understand. Well, not really, but I understand a bit more than I did before so I guess that is all-right... Personally I like cheddar cheeze, mozzarella cheeze and smoked gouda. CHEEZE GROMIT!!! And I can spell CHEEZE with a Z if I want to. I can also spell favourite and colours with an "E" and a "U," so there.
